Essential Information - What to take to the Festival

Click here to view and print a check list of things you MUST NOT forget to take to Reading/Leeds.

Anorak - Reading 98 & 99 was Hot, Sunny, but this is never guaranteed such as in 2002/04 .

Sun block - If its hot it'll save you from becoming the Red Reading festy goer - well it doesn't hurt to be optimistic.

A Bag - To put the beer in.

A Tent - It keeps the rain off and the wind at bay.

NOTE: Don’t forget pegs and a mallet or borrow one off your neighbour. Watch out for those thieving buggers who forget their tent pegs and "borrow" yours whether you like it or not.

Sleeping Bag - MMMMM warmth.

A Torch - Especially helpful for setting up at 10:30 at night.

Beer - Need I say more?

A Swiss Army Knife - The bottle opener is especially helpful for the beer.

Matches - For the fire of course (Firewood is available on site for a extortionate price that should keep you toasty for 3-4 hours).

Bog Roll - It will come in handy.

Paracetamol - Not that anyone is going to get hung over but...

Carrier bags - For any dirty stuff (apart from what you're wearing) for the worst part of the weekend - the journey home.

If your taking a car you could take more stuff, otherwise buy this when you get to Reading:

Water - To wash the paracetamol down with, also take some in the main arena or buy some (watch out for those usual rip off festy prices tho!) to avoid dehydration.

Food - General snacks for when you can't be bothered to walk to the food vans.

If you want more creature comforts consider the following:

Airbed and footpump - Alternatively a roll mat, the ground gets very hard if we're lucky enough to have some sun.

Wet Wipes - Keep yourself clean - if you want to.

Deodorant - Can also be used as air-freshener for the tent.

Chewing Gum - Sugar free, helps prevent the build up of plaque acid - well that’s what the advert said.

Spare clothes - T-shirts and maybe socks especially for those cold nights.
