So, the UK DVD has some extras that the US one doesn't (Real Superheroes, Mechanics, Viral Videos), and so does the BD (Viral Videos), but the BD is apparently missing some of the US extras (Maximum Movie Mode) and may or may not contain only the theatrical cut.

Yup, nice job Paramount.

And it's particularly pointless as we all know there's a more stacked release coming for Christmas.

So, nice to see everyone getting the same version!!

Looks like a cancel of the pre-order standard Blu and a wait for the ultimate edition that will no doubt arrive in time for Xmas.

Maybe by then they will have got the things sorted out!!

Although Paramount/Warner dont normally region code their Blu discs so the import is always an option...

Just heard back and it's theatrical cut only.

Warner are handling the US release but like Paramount they're always region free so it's safe to import if you want the DC.

Dave, are "no director's cut UK release at this time" their words? If so, sounds rather like they'll be milking this by giving the Director's Cut a separate release before the final edition. (Of course, even if those aren't their words, this is what we can all suspect anyway.)

No those are my words. But yeah, I think you're probably right.

Thank god! This film was already too long! The thought of being forced to watch ANOTHER 20 minutes was insufferable, so I'm quite glad at being offered the Theatrical Cut. If you're that desparate to have the Director's Cut, just import!

So though you clearly disliked it, you feel compelled to buy it & watch it again anyway, and so are glad you'll only have to suffer 163 minutes again while those of us who liked it miss out on the extended cut?

That doesn't make much sense.

DJ Mike is clearly a masochist, albeit a rather pussy one, cause he likes suffering only if it does not take too long...

How exactly does my saying it's way too long automatically mean my complete and utter hatred for it? I enjoyed it a fair bit, but for what it was it was far too long in getting to its conclusion, and I really don't see how adding another 20 minutes is somehow going to make that any better. I side with Alan Moore on this one - it's just not a story that translates well to film. But kudos to Zack Snyder and co for at least paying attention to the details, now if only the pacing could have been better.

Updated the DVD specs as I've had a look at the discs. Everything is the same as previously reported, except for the Viral Videos of which there is only 1 on the 2-Disc set (previously reported to have 4). I assume all 4 will be on the Blu-ray. AV specs for the DVD are now also final.

And I thought all this being shagged by the US version over here in England was all going end with HD how much of an optimist am I...

At least the American Directors Cut as it's been releaed by Warner will be region free which will be of help.

I though decided after being shafted for so long with DVD regions that I would not buy a Blu-Ray player untill I could buy one that was Blu-Ray & DVD region free which I now have :-)
