Warner Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of the Warner Home Video Western Classics Collection on 26th August 2008. Celebrating the western genre Warner brings 6 titles – each newly remastered for this release – to DVD.. Priced at $59.92 SRP for the collection or available individually at $12.97 SRP each, the only extras are original trailers.

Excellent news but that should be Robert Taylor not William Holden in The Law and Jake Wade.

I wonder if Widmark would have been on the box cover if he hadn't died recently? Still, a nice and well-deserved little tribute.

The artwork is a bit disappointing given Warner's usual efforts on their classic film DVDs. I'm surprised they haven't used this poster as the basis for The Stalking Moon's cover as it's a lot more interesting than what they've come up with.
