The BBC have sent through the details on their March 2004 Region 2 DVD line-up that includes the oft-delayed release of Blakes 7: Series 1 now 'officially confirmed' to be arriving on 1st March 2004. Also delayed from its previous January 12th release date is the comedy series Wild West that will now debut on 15th March.

Blakes 7: Series 1 - £49.99. This brand new 5-disc DVD digi-pack contains all 13 episodes from Series 1 and a host of special features including:-
Doctor Who: Pyramids of Mars - £19.99 - The future of the cosmos is at stake when the Doctor faces his most fearsome adversary in this four part adventure. Returning to UNIT HQ on Earth, the TARDIS is thrown violently about by a mysterious force and Sarah and the Doctor arrive instead at an old priory in the year 1911. The owner, Marcus Scarman, has been excavating ancient tombs and is possessed by the spirit of Sutekh, bringer of "the gift of death to all mankind". Sutekh has lain for thousands of years in his pyramid prison and Scarman and his robot mummies plan to release this ancient and evil power. Will Sutekh the all-powerful be freed from his bonds and destroy the world, or will the Doctor manage to bring about his destruction?

Michael Palin: Pole to Pole - £19.99 - Michael Palin's second challenge is to travel from the North to the South Pole, by land and sea. The crossing is varied and frequently gruelling, passing through Russia days before the abortive Gorbachev coup, then on through Turkey, Egypt, Sudan and South Africa, hopefully arriving in time to catch the only ship from Africa to Antarctica. Extras include an interview with Michael Palin.

Wracked by a terrible skin disease, the unsuccessful writer Phillip Marlow (Michael Gambon) looks cynically back on life from his bed in a busy National Health hospital, fantasising himself into one of his own pulp thrillers as a crooning '40's detective enmeshed in a baffling murder case. But memories of his wartime childhood keep intruding – as do songs like 'Blues in the Night', 'Dry Bones' and 'Cruising Down The River'. Unwillingly, Marlow agrees to talk to a psychotherapist – and, slowly, the clues begin to add up. But to what?
This three-disc set includes excerpts from a 1998 documentary called "Close up: Dennis Potter under the skin", an "Arena" segment, two "Points of View" segments, cast filmographies and a fascinating commentary with Producer Kenith Trodd and Director Jon Amiel.

The Giant Claw - This DVD brings to life one of the most bizarre creatures ever to walk the earth. Our presenter journeys back to the sand dunes of the Mesozoic Mongolia to track the owner of the largest claws of all time - Therizinosaurus. His adventure yields a series of vital and surprising clues - a nest, footprints, dung and a skeleton with a toothless skull. Eventually he is rewarded by a face-to-face encounter with the owner of the giant claw but until then he must negotiate vast nesting sites, see of curious Velociraptors and avoid the terrifying Tarbosaurus.

Wild West - £19.99. This quirky comedy is set in the small, picturesque yet rather odd coastal village of St. Gweep and stars Dawn French. Mary (Dawn French) always says what she thinks and is not averse to stocking the shop she runs with stolen goods, while Angela's prim exterior masks an unhealthy obsession with some frilly frocks and strange phobias. And the village locals are every bit eccentric as the distinctively 'odd couple' in this charming and original series.

They may have realised that Amaray cases are better than those cardboard ones (completely changing the style of the Friends releases in the last season) but they haven't given up on the lack of quality for their box sets, look at the last Babylon 5 set and the Smallville set if you don't believe me.

I have bought the Australian 2-disc Alien films in Amarays rather than buy the horrible Quadrilogy boxset. I lose the ninth disc of extras but thats a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
I will also get either the R1 or R4 Alias when the price is right as they are 3 * double amaray in a strong cardboard sleeve. The R2 release is very Blue Peter!
