Juno (US BD) in April

Fox Home Entertainment have announced the US Region A Blu-ray Disc release of Juno on 15th April 2008 priced at $39.98 SRP. Directed by Jason Reitman and starring Ellen Page, Juno is nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress.

Juno (Page) is anything but the typical teenager with her offbeat personality, quick wit . . . and unplanned pregnancy. When one afternoon of boredom leads her into the arms of her best friend, Juno begins a hilarious nine-month journey of self-discovery into adulthood. The supporting cast includes Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, J.K. Simmons and Allison Janney.

Arriving day-and-date, the Blu-ray Disc will be authored in BD-Java with AVC (MPEG 4 compression) on a dual-layer 50 GB disc with English 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Master Audio plus English, French and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital sound. All extras from the 2-Disc Special Edition DVD release will be included alongside two Fox Movie Channel exclusive featurettes.

I have not seen this but I am guessing that it was independently made and then Fox liked the look of it and picked it up for a wider release. This is what happened with the excellent All The Boys Love Mandy Lane(see it now its great and Amber Heard is the best looking woman I have ever seen she is breathtaking) which was made in 2006 and played at a lot of film festivals until it was picked up for a wider release.
