Universal HD DVD in January

Universal Studios Home Video have announced the US HD DVD release of three catalogue titles on 8th January 2008. For their first slate of high definition titles Universal gives you Mobsters, The Pianist and White Noise.

Retail is $29.98 SRP each.

The Pianist fantastic.

The film is outstanding but Optimum's Studio Canal port isn't much cop. It's bare-bones for starters and I hear most of the Studio Canal HD-DVDs have audio pitch problems.

Great to see the excellent documentary and lossless sound (which the Optimum also has). I wonder why Universal lost the UK rights. The DVD is by them.
