Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Hot Fuzz 3-Disc Collector's Edition on 27th November 2007 priced at $34.98 SRP. Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's much-anticipated follow-up to Shaun Of The Dead stars Pegg as a hard London copper who's assigned to a new beat: the most boring village in Britain. Nick Frost also returns to star alongside Pegg as one of the local village cops.

Following the single-disc Region 1 DVD release in July that was somewhat lacking in comparison to the HD DVD and UK DVD releases, Universal are now issuing a 3-Disc Collector’s Edition that includes all the UK DVD extras and throws in a fifth commentary track and an extended version of the one exclusive extra the old R1 DVD had, the Fuzzball Rally.

"Feature Commentary with Edgar Wright & Guest"

This bit intrigues me... Is this commentary on the R2 version? Anyone?

No, but I'm calling it now that it'll turn out to be Peter Jackson. And since the only things this version has that the R2 doesn't looks to be the Fuzzball Rally feature and one more commentary track, I don't think it's enough to warrant a double dip from me.

Well, I'm definitely gonna buy this dvd! It's a great film, and I can't resist a special edition of a good movie. (Take, for instance, Hellboy 3-Disc Directors Cut, and the LotR Extended Editions.)
