Lionsgate UK will release the star-studded remake of the classic western thriller 3:10 TO YUMA in cinemas nationwide on September 14th, 2007, exactly 50 years after the BAFTA-nominated original starring Glenn Ford and Van Heflin.

Based on Elmore Leonard’s short story 3:10 TO YUMA is directed by James Mangold and produced by Cathy Konrad, the partnership that brought audiences movies such as WALK THE LINE and GIRL INTERRUPTED and stars Russel Crowe and Christian Bale.

In Arizona in the late 1800s, infamous outlaw Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) leader of a vicious gang of thieves and murderers plagued the Southern Railroad. When Wade is captured, Civil War veteran Dan Evans (Christian Bale), struggling to survive on his drought-plagued ranch, volunteers to deliver him alive to the "3:10 to Yuma", a train that will take the killer to trial. On the path to deliverance, Evans and Wade, each from very different worlds, begin to earn each other’s respect. But, with Wade’s outfit in hot pursuit the mission soon becomes a violent, impossible journey towards each man's destiny.

We're dabbling with posting up more news items in the Cinema section...the title didn't really reflect that very well though so I'll fix it now.

I'm looking forward to this one certainly, long time since I've seen a Western at the cinema.

Another great film that really didn't need a remake. But since they've done it, I'm interested to see how it's turned out.
