Paramount Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Twin Peaks: The Second Season for 3rd April 2007. Twin Peaks was created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. The show was set in the fictional town of Twin Peaks in northeast Washington state and tells the story of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper and his investigation of the murder of a popular local teenage schoolgirl, Laura Palmer.

This long-awaited complete second season release will include English DD5.1 Surround and the original 2.0 audio alongside an optional Spanish dub. The promotional material describes the set as...

"Approved by David Lynch the Second Season contains 22 episodes digitally restored from high definition masters, 5.1 Surround Sound and is loaded with new in-depth interviews and introductions."

Episodes are spread over six-discs with extras including “Log Lady Intros” for each episode, insights from Jennifer Lynch, Todd Holland, Caleb Deschanel, Duwayne Dunham, Stephen Gyllenhaal and Tim Hunter plus an interactive interview grid.

Woo hoo woo hoo - Yipeey! :D:D:D

This is so long over due I can't wait. I've finally just picked up S1 UK R2 too. I presume this time it won't matter which region you get?

p.s - I bet all the eBay sellers selling all those Spanish DVDs (the only current legit version) are getting worried :D

Great news! I was beginning to regret throwing out all my old taped-off-the-TV episodes. If the quality of the set is anything like the first season, this will be well worth watching again.

I'm not sure but if you can get it, then it is a great set! But it is subtitled in the loud club scene, which I'd not seen before.

Now season 2 is coming out, I might pick up season 1

Psycho :)

Already been released in Germany in two parts.

Hopefully the UK won't be far behind as I'd like it to match my first season.

I won't buy r2 half seasons (those greedy bastards).
I guess I'll sell my german season 1 set and buy this new baby together with season 1. Do I still need "Fire Walk with Me" to understand everything ?

Since when did you understand Lynch? :D

I hear it's best to watch it after S1 and S2 so that's what I'll be doing.

Thanks. I reckon it's very much OOP though :(

April?! Aaaaargh! Oh well, we've waited this long...Just don't expect it to be as good as Season 1, folks. Although it contains some stunning episodes, there's a lot of dross in there too. Consider yourselves warned. And yes, FWWM should ideally be seen after both seasons. I'm not aware of any definitive edition; I'm still hoping for a release with the much-talked-about deleted scenes. The subtitles aren't essential, IMO.

Is the R1 Season 1 deleted? Can't find it anywhere? And R2 seems to consist only of the first 7 eps?

The first series consisted of the pilot and seven episodes. The R2 includes all of these.

I'm a writer over at Zoom In Online, and just did a big piece on the upcoming Season 2 Twin Peaks DVD release, and thought you might want to check it out and let your fellow fans and readers know about it! You know it's been moved to April 3, 2007, right?? Amazon and others have it listed shipping April 3.
