Lions Gate Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of The Doors (15th Anniversary Edition) for 12th December 2006 priced at $19.98 SRP. Directed and written by Oliver Stone and featuring an all-star cast including Val Kilmer, Meg Ryan and Kevin Dillon, this biopic returns to DVD with over 43 minutes of additional footage and a new, rare, on-on-one interview with the legendary Oliver Stone. In addition, the DVD contains two all new documentaries entitled The Doors in Los Angeles and The Jim Morrison Phenomena in Paris.

Features include:
  • Newly remastered 2.35:1 Widescreen Theatrical Version
  • English DD5.1 EX & DTS-ES 6.1 Surround
  • English & Spanish subtitles
  • New, rare, one-on-one interview with world renowned filmmaker, Oliver Stone

Looks like this will be a single disc instead of a 2-disc set like it's predicesor. If that's the case, think I'll stick with what I've got.

The Doors is THE band for me, so this will be 3rd version of the movie I`ll get. Previous R1 and R2 had differend extras and R1 was non anamorfic etc -must have and can`t wait !
