How convenient, a single disc release in time for Xmas. A great flick that I'll quite happily wait for the inevitable SE version.

Brilliant movie to compliment a brilliant tv show - the kind of sci-fi Revenge of the Sith should have been. But what the hell is up with that cover? River looks nothing like that and Mal should be more prominent surely?!? Still it's only a cover and it's the content that counts.....

Hmm, anybody else notice that the colour scheme they've got going on there is remarkably similar to the one on the opening titles for the third season of Roswell? I quite like it actually - I agree with the previous statements about the characters and actually I despise the quote and the line at the top (quite frankly 'ultimate action adventures' generally leave me rather cold - they should be playing up what makes Serenity different not trying to make it seems like just another brainless sci fi flick).

Anyway I'm not even going to try and hold out for a special edition. If it comes I'll quite happily buy both and about a thousand copies of each if it will get us a sequel.

Is it just me, or have they actually tried to make Summer Glau look like a cat?

I don't like that picture of her on the cover, although I really like her in general :D

As for this disk, its inevitable that there will be a SE release next year, but I will buy this release, and the SE and probably the LE and the UE when they are released too ;)

Oh me too, for sure!

But that picture makes her look ike she escaped, not from The Alliance, but from The Island of Dr. Moreau! :D

I'll definitely be getting this. Hopefully not too many people will hold off buying it in the hope of a better version eventually being released because the DVD sales will most likely decide whether or not there will be any sequels.

Wow, now there's some shockingly bad artwork as well. And is it me or did the guy who did the menus really love sepia tones?

Looks like the cover for The Chronicles of River: Escape From Bad Photoshop Bay.

Oh well, at least they didn't stick a bunch of giant floaty heads all over it, and o' course it's what's inside the case that counts, and what's inside is one very very shiny movie indeed. :D

When are we going to get a SE of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" the movie. I want to see a lot of features to explain why the film was so disappointing.

Iain-Boulton - no chance of an official double pack because the series is released by Fox while this is Universal. However, any store with any intelligence would surely put the box-set next to this to up sales a bit.

I doubt that will happen. The marketing for Serenity has downplayed Firefly and many people I know who saw it or considered seeing it weren't even aware there was a TV show. I suspect the marketing folks fear that knowledge of there being a TV show will put newcomers off.

i doubt there will be a big SE of this later on. Yes its loved by its fans, but if irrc it only did "ok" in the US (where it matters) so I doubt it will warrant 2nd release.

I'm not too bothered about having a few more extras so will be quite happy with this disc.

I see your point Jim but then again compare Firefly's performance on television compared to on DVD. It was the DVD sales that convinced Universal to make the movie so who's to say that the movie won't pull exactly the same trick and do much better than the film did in cinemas. Then if it does do well on DVD it's not too much of a stretch to imagine a special edition coming out.

Good movie but I had a hard time making out the dialogue at times on the DVD.

Maybe it's just me.
