The US release of season 3 contained a short prequel to season 4. The UK release didn't since it was released 4 months earlier. I really hope FOX UK include it in this set.

The UK version has the promo and teaser on disc 6, not disc 7.

I assume that you haven't seen it to the 6th disc;)

fc_baracelona, are you referring to my post? The prequel isn't included on my season 3 set, that's for sure. I bought it last August when it was originally released. The prequel probably wasn't even shot at the time.

Did they include it in a re-release? If so, that'd be pretty lame.

bassbar: It's the one with the line "I can find my own f/&$%ng job, Erin." if that's what you mean. :)

they do a similar thing with the menu screens, i.e. season 3, having not seen it, upon inserting the disc the menu has a picture of nina in it even though she hadn't surfaced that season yet! hope they stop that (although I am watching season 4 on sky so it doesn't matter so much this time but for those who don't have sky it's just not cricket!)

I bought the re-release at Choices Direct and both are absolutely on the set! I swear to God

And Jack Bauers f****** line is included at the end of the teaser. I haven't seen a single episode of S4, so I don't know anything.

It's even in anamorphic!!!

It seems that they've been released with the re-release, so I can understand you.

By the way, did you check your 6th Disc? They've included it on the menu screen to finish the hole shabang.

The teaser actually starts with the final scene of season 3.

Having just checked my season 3 disc 6 (bought from choices when they were uber cheap) I can confirm that both the 6 min teaser and 2 min trailer for season 4 are included! Both are listed on the disc's main menu as well (just underneath the final episode).

fc_barcelona,

yes, I checked my 6th disc. I bought the set at amazon.co.uk when it was first released. No prequel. Bastards. I'll cancel my season 4 pre-order right now. If that's what you get for paying more they can keep it.

Hmm, does the logo on the top of the box mean that they've decided to go for an opening on the side of the slipcase? If so it's about time - the first three seasons have this irritating habit of getting out of shape and given that many stores tend to remove the insides from box sets the 24 releases don't tend to fare well. Hopefully this means that Fox have decided to do something about it. Shame about the preview - I also bought my season three last August so I've not seen it either. That said I didn't get to catch season four on Sky so I'm buying it as soon as it comes out (guess I'll never see the season five preview either).

The season 4 prequel wasn't on the s3 set when it was originally released, but it was on a subsequent re-release. It's as simple as that, really :p

BBFC have rated the prequel (along with lots of other extras) recently, so it looks likely that it'll be on the set. Even if it isn't, you're not missing much -- Bauer swearing is the only good bit; it's mostly pointless.

Other stuff the BBFC have rated includes just under an hour of deleted scenes, as well as a selection of featurettes running about 15 to 20 minutes each.

They're re-releasing all first three seasons of 24 on DVD in Australia in new 3-disc-amaray, two parts per season, packaging.

The Season 3 extras list the Season 4 promo and teaser as being on part 2.

badblokebob,

you're right, it's listed under the deleted/extended scenes over the the BBFC, that's why I didn't see it. I just checked the titles. Well, in that case I'll leave my order standing for now.

I've already seen the prequel, and while it may not be something special, it certainly belongs in a "complete" collection, that's why I want it. Thanks for your pointer.

If they don't include the prequel then I'll hold off and get the rerelease with the season 5 prequel. Probably be cheaper then too.

They'll proabley stick to the good old fashion seven disc digipack that guantrees to cause discs to fly out on their way to doorsteps if you internet order it.

I would have prefered three two disc amaray cases.

It 'guarantees' no such thing -- I've ordered more than enough digipacks over the net and very, very rarely had any problems with discs being loose. Personally, I absolutely hate them using a group of slim Amaray cases -- it's uglier and doesn't seem as nice.

So the season 4 prequel isn't on this? Well that just sucks.

Also, no commentaries? :(

Edit: Seems the prequel is on here -- it's the first of the deleted scenes, according to the BBFC site. Also, I'm told details of commentaries weren't announced until later for season 3 (though I don't remember that myself)...

2 commentaries have already been classified at the bbfc (even though the participants listed can't be right in one case), so the specs above don't seem to be complete yet.

Also, what's up with this:

Promotional Short Film ‘Nissan Shift - Original Drama’

???

I think it's the Nissan sponsorship ads that were shown on Sky. They were in real time and told an entie story over the over the entire season. It was kinda cool and it'll be interesting to see it all together.

only 2 commentaries in all? that's... surprising, for a 24 set at least. Didnt the others have about 6 or 7?

There was a commentary per disc on the other seasons, iirc. Shame there aren't more this time :(

The Nissan ads weren't in real time, were they? If they were meant to be then it seems they did a pretty poor job of it to me!

Finally, that first deleted scene -- its title implies it's an extended version of the s4 promo, but the summary makes it sounds like it's just an extended scene from it... I hope it's the former -- I still think it's not on to just go including it on a cheaper re-release of the s3 set.
